Heading outside to catch some of the summer sun is a great way to enjoy the weather and stay healthy and active. However, there are some precautions you should consider while enjoying the warmer weather!
Always bring water along.
Whether you’re choosing to go out for a walk, to an event, or even errands around town, you should bring along with you a thermos or bottle of water. A thermos like a Yeti container will keep your water cold even if it has to sit in the car all day long. You never know when you might need a drink–and containers and bottles are refillable in the chance you run out of water. This is especially helpful in the off chance your car becomes stranded somewhere and you are unable to drive until help arrives.
Wear sunscreen while outside.
Don’t be fooled by a cloudy day. The UV rays from the sun are just as strong during overcast days. If you know you’re going to outside for an extended period of time, wear sunblock to protect your skin front the sun. You could end up with a sunburn, or worse, open yourself up to skin cancer.
Do not swim alone.
Even if you think yourself a competent swimmer, accidents can happen. You could get a cramp while in the water or slip and fall on slippery pool surfaces. Make sure to always swim with another person at minimum. Besides, swimming with a partner or friends is fun!
Mind your A/C
Make sure that if you can get away with running fans or the A/C on a lower temperature, do so. Not only will it help with your electricity bill, but also help from your A/C potentially going out during hot weather.
